Weekend ride to Jambughoda Wildlife Sanctuary
15th April 2006 to 16th April 2006

A short weekend ride to the Jambughoda Wild Life Sanctuary. The first one with my wife Smita, more so as a prelude to the looong Ladakh ride that we are planning this June - July (see details on the main page )

Jambughoda wildlife sanctuary is Near Pavagadh, roughly 180 Kms from Ahmedabad. We'd decided to skip the touristy Kada Dam and instead made our way to the Targol Guest house of the Forest Dept. The guest house is situated on a small hillock and overlooks a small reservoir.

The Jambughoda sanctuary spread over 130.38 sq kms, with its dry teak and dry mix deciduous forest, is home to a variety of wild animals including leopards, reptiles and birds. The sanctuary has rich vegetation as well. Definitely a must do in Monsoons and Winters.

Total Distance covered 460 kms. Riders Gaurav, Kavin & Us.
